A listing that was briefly glimpsed earlier today byIGN (opens in new tab)on Microsoft’s online store has confirmed the contents of a new console bundle that had until now been unannounced.
The console was briefly available for pre-order, but the listings was swiftly taken down shortly after it appeared. From the images we can surmise that the console will include an Xbox 360 emblazoned with Halo 4‘s signature neon blue color and a design themed on Forerunner-style architecture. It will also feature two matching controllers, a standard issue headset, and of course a copy of Halo 4.
The console itself sports a bit more than just a custom paint job. First, it will feature a large 320 GB harddrive. It will also have custom, Halo-themed sounds for opening and closing the disc tray. Purchasers will also receive some free DLC including a new weapon skin, a unique set of armor, avatar armor and some sort of avatar prop.
All together the bundle will run for $399. Somewhat surprisingly, it will not come with a Kinect camera, suggesting this is not a bundle intended to garner new purchasers, but is rather for the super hardcore Halo fan. That said, we’d have a tough time resisting a $500 bundle that had all of the contents of the $399 version plus a Halo-themed Kinect camera with a blue light on the front that talked at us like 343 Guilty Spark (opens in new tab).
