Sonic’s a bit like the kid who peaked in high school; all of his happiest moments are spent recreating the past. It may be a little sad, but at least he’ll be able to relive the good old days in three dimensions soon: 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is coming to the 3DS eShop on October 8.

Regarded by many of Sonic’s IRL friends as the pinnacle of his adventures, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has admittedly been re-released a time or two in the past. But if you’ve played any of Sega’s other 3D updates (like 3D Gunstar Heroes or 3D Out Run) you know why this is worth getting excited about. Just imagine sinking into those beautiful backgrounds as they scroll by…
