Shadows of the Damned director announces new project at new studio Ovosonico

Game developer Massimo Guarini isn’t just blessed with an awesome name, he’s also blessed with some high-quality game design chops and a resume that has him working with both Shinji Mikami and Suda 51.

He was the director behind the utterly bizarre Shadows of the Damned, and so when he started talking about his next project we were very interested.

According to Guarini, Ovosonico is planning a new project that will be about the same length as a feature film, and will feature intense emotional themes.

“All I can say is that I want to craft memorable experiences,” Guarini said in a press release. “There is so much more to be explored besides throw-away iPhone games and 40-hour long traditional productions. I think the best way for us to achieve our vision is to provide a rich emotional experience packaged in a movie-length time frame, and possibly sold at a reasonable price”.

Other than that, no details are currently available, but a statement like that along with the attachment of Guarini has made us very interested to see what they’re planning. Moving games away from the 20 hour norm, is certainly an admirable goal.

This will be the first title Ovosonico has worked on as an indie studio.
