It seems every game this day has to add multiplayer just to stay competitive, but developer Rocksteady stuck with making a great single player experience in Batman: Arkham City and we think it paid off big time. There’s just so much going on, and even if you somehow manage to do everything in the sprawling town, the team is keeping things fresh with new DLC featuring some of our favorite friends of the Bat. Today we got some of our first footage of the Nightwing DLC, as we see the former Boy Wonder and all his fancy tricks.
He started life as Batman’s first sidekick, and eventually Dick Grayson grew out of the Robin persona and became solo vigilante Nightwing. Despite doing his own thing, Dick still helps out Bats occasionally, and that includes helping him beat up thugs that sometimes sound like Nathan Drake voice actor Nolan North. As you can see from the trailer, Nightwing plays a bit differently from Batman, with electrified sticks and wrist darts that temporarily turn Arkham into a first person shooter.
You won’t be taking Nightwing through Arkham City proper, as he’s confined to the challenge maps in the game, but he comes with two original challenge maps, Wayne Manor and Main Hall, which sound like a nice change from the snowy streets of Arkham City. Nightwing also comes with his own Animated Series skin, so you can make him look like like he did during the later run of episodes in the Bruce Timm/Paul Dini series.
The DLC goes on sale November 1 for 560 MS points or $5.99 on PSN.
