Yes, if you want Fallout 4s Mr. Handy to call you F**kface, thats already in the game

So yeah this is a thing. Why? Because Bethesda knows how people really play video games, basically, and seems more than happy to make provisions for your base urges. Who knows, maybe Bethesda has given up on you. Maybe it’s just spent too long trying to raise you up to a respectable standard with worthy, world-saviour aspirations, and has finally decided to let you wallow in your own squalor. Happy now? Yeah, you probably are, aren’t you, you big disappointment.

But yes, not only is it entirely possible for you to officially name your Fallout 4 (opens in new tab) character Mr. (or presumably Mrs., Ms. or Miss) Fuckface, but the game will officially recognise it by referring to you as such throughout. With words. That have been spoken by actors.

As explained by Game Director Todd Howard at QuakeCon, Bethesda has recorded venerable game actor Stephen Russell – voice of the original Thief’s Garrett, as well as Fallout 4’s plummy robot Butler, Mr Handy – saying 1000 of the most probable names players will choose, in order to add a lovely slice of friendly immersion by way of direct address.

In a video shown alongside the announcement, at the event’s behind-closed-doors, attendees-only presentation (opens in new tab), we heard Handy deliver a chipper address to, amongst others, ‘Miss. Angela’, ‘Mr. Matthew’, and ‘Mr. McFly’. And following that? ‘Mr. Fuckface’. Splendid, hilarious stuff, especially in that chipper, upper-crust voice. The hunt for yet more fully-voiced obscenities begins when Fallout 4 launches on November 10.
