Four top Orbit authors to attend the SFX Weekender

Our stunning literary line-up continues with Jon Courtenay Grimwood, Ken MacLeod, Michael Cobley and Benedict Jacka joining our live festival of SF and fantasy in February 2012

Four more top authors are scheduled to appear at the SFX Weekender in February, this time from the stable of publishers Orbit.

Jon Courtenay Grimwood first rose to fame in the late ’90s with his book neoAddix following a career as a freelance journalist. Since then he has made a name for himself with in the SF world with his Arabesk Trilogy and subsequent novels. He has been nominated for the Arthur C Clarke award twice and for the British Science Fiction Awards for his last eight books, winning on two occasions; for his novels Felaheen , the third in the Arabesk Trilogy, and End Of The World Blues . His latest book, The Fallen Blade was published by Orbit Books in April 2011. Set in historical Venice, it features vampires, werewolves, assassins and pirates. It is the first in his new Vampire Assassini Trilogy.

Come along and see all four authors, along with panels, signings, workshops, screenings and more, at the live sci-fi event in just over three months’ time. Other writerly guests so far include China Miéville, Tony Lee, Jaine Fenn, Paul Cornell, Sarah Pinborough, Peter F Hamilton, Robert Rankin, Juliet E McKenna and Dan Abnett . Of course as usual expect actors, artists and more. The SFX Weekender 3 takes place at the Prestatyn Pontin’s on the first weekend in February.
