TechRadar, UK’s most popular technology website, has arrived on western soil. The new site, dubbed TechRadar US, was launched by Future Publishing to offer western tech lovers the resources and support of its UK sister site, but with a focus on North American gadgets, gear, and technology news.
“Our sister site, TechRadar in the UK is the #1 technology website in the UK and us folks on the other side of the pond are gonna leverage their success to bring tech lovers in the States even more of the tech that they love,” wrote TechRadar US in its introductory post.
The launch announcement included a video highlighting some of the changes coming to TechRadar’s sites on both sides of the pond:
TechRadar’s coverage runs the gamut from smartphone guides to computer reviews, gaming hardware reports, gadget tests, home theatre comparisons, and pretty anything to do with the products and services that keeps the human race informed, entertained, and engaged. A scan through its most recent articles offers a glimpse at the site’s diversity, with recent features including a PS Vita review, a look at the 50 best free iPhone games on the planet, a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play review, and an insightful rundown of how Apple became a retail giant.
Although TechRadar US will work alongside its UK siblings, the site insists it will not be a carbon copy, promising, “TechRadar in the US won’t just be a clone of its sibling in the UK – we’ll definitely have our own take on things and as we grow our unique voice will too.”
US readers will be automatically redirected to the North American site. Fans can also keep tabs on TechRadar via Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
