Mirrors Edge Catalyst delayed two weeks to address player feedback

It would seem that everyone’s favorite parkour expert and corporate regime-toppling freedom fighter Faith needs a little more time to stretch her legs – Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (opens in new tab) has been delayed by two weeks from its previous release date of May 24 to June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe.

Developer DICE cited (opens in new tab) tweaking of the game’s online multiplayer systems as the reason for the delay, writing, “To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology. We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game.”

For many, the closed beta (opens in new tab) begins tomorrow, April 22. Regardless of whether you get in or not though, I expect the delay will also result in two weeks’ worth of gameplay footage from those who get early access.
