Mass Effect theme park ride to bridge the gap between ME3 & Andromeda

Want to know what happens between Mass Effect 3 (opens in new tab) and Mass Effect: Andromeda (opens in new tab)? Then you better get your ass to Mars. Er, sorry, wrong sci-fi reference. I mean California. EA, in conjunction with 3D Live and Cedar Fair Entertainment, have created a ride at California’s Great America amusement park in Santa Clara that will serve as a bridge between the original trilogy and the new game.

Mass Effect: New Earth takes park-goers on an adventure alongside the Normandy, traveling through a Mass Relay and landing on the planet Terra Nova – the planet Commander Shepard and crew saved in the original Mass Effect’s Bring Down the Sky DLC. The ride will open sometime in May.

Billed as a “4D” experience, the ride will not only feature 3D visuals, but other sensory stimulations. You’ll feel wind and rain, as well as motion in the seats and tingles on your neck. And I don’t mean the sort of shudders you get from a pleasurable sensation, I mean the seats literally have what 3D Live CEO Nathan Huber describes as “neck ticklers.” God willing, this means we’ll finally know what it’s like to feel the gentle, loving touch of the Hanar Spectre, Blasto.

So, who’s up for a road trip?
