Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix coming in 2014

The prettified Kingdom Hearts history lesson will continue next year. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix bundles HD versions of Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded on PS3, Square Enix announced today.

The compilation is a sequel (if that term can apply to a bundle of previously released games) to September’s Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, and it re-completes the branching and re-branching timeline leading up to Kingdom Hearts 3.

This will be the first release outside of Japan for the Final Mix extended versions of Kingdom Hearts II and Birth by Sleep, which include a new difficulty mode and other minor additions.

With these changes in place, the only Kingdom Hearts game yet to be appear in some form in an HD compilation will be 2012 3DS title Dream Drop Distance. Then, maybe, Square Enix will release Kingdom Hearts 3. Or another prequel, whichever.
