Doctor Who : Peter Capaldi’s costume .
Here it is! Now we know what Peter Capaldi will be wearing when he takes the lead in Doctor Who
(opens in new tab)
Created by costume designer Howard Burden, it features a dark blue coat with red lining (a tad reminiscent of Jon Pertwee’s cloak ), a white shirt, dark blue trousers, and some scrupulously polished black Doctor Martens shoes. And is that a cardigan we spy? Or is it a waistcoat? The BBC press release is frustratingly lacking when it comes to this vital detail.
Here’s a quote from Capaldi on his clobber: “He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.”
Doctor Who returns to BBC One later this year. To catch up on all the series 8 news, check out our Doctor Who News Accumulator .
