Bait review

The pitch sounds like heyday Ozploitation or an Asylum schlockbuster – survivors of a tsunami find themselves trapped in a flooded supermarket with a 12ft great white shark – but this Aussie 3D thriller is too glossy for the former and too, well, decent for the latter.

Gathering armed robbers, a cop, his daughter and more in the food aisles as the wave hits, the subplots and characterisations stay afloat, just, and the CG is acceptable (three or four moments aside).

More funny than scary, it often feels like Deep Blue Sea meets The Mist … but what’s wrong with that?
