The long-awaited sequel to Beetlejuice looks as though it’s going to finally happen, with Tim Burton in discussions over a return to the director’s chair.
Burton has long had one eye on reprising the project, with his involvement in a potential sequel apparently dependent on the strength of the script.
Seth Grahame-Smith had been tasked with writing said script for Warner Bros, and it seems it was up to scratch, as Burton has now entered talks with the studio, according to a report by The Wrap (opens in new tab) .
Meanwhile, Michael Keaton is also expected to return to the title role, having previously revealed that “I’d do that in a heartbeat… that’s the one thing I’d love to do again.”
The report claims that Beetlejuice 2 won’t be Burton’s next project, but with a script in place and a leading man potentially on board, it might not be too far away either…
