3D Realms revives Earth No More with crowdfunding, new developer

3D Realms is coming back with a crowdfunded post-apocalyptic first-person shooter. The studio behind Duke Nukem 3D and parts of Duke Nukem Forever is co-producing with an unannounced developer for Earth No More according to Eurogamer, and will soon open the project for funding on games-centric crowdfunding site Gambitious.

The game, which depicts an Earth violently responding to humanity’s indiscriminate environmental exploitation, was originally slated for release in 2009 but was lost in a mire of shifting developers and financial issues. The intellectual property is owned by Radar Group, where 3D Realms founder Scott Miller is chief creative officer. Miller also serves on Gambitious’ five-person advisory board.

The developer has done several collaborations in the past, with Max Payne and Prey both partially attributed to 3D Realms along with Remedy Entertainment and Human Head Studios, respectively.
